Before coming to University I had no clue how to create something that looks decent, digitally. Therefore, I looked up some tutorials on Youtube about using Inkscape (I have to mention that I did not have the Adobe pack at that time and I just installed a free program). By doing that I came across a certain youtube channel called ‘Logos by Nick’ (it’s not all about logos, tho) and I was immediately pulled into a rollercoaster of useful information. The tutorials were clear and easy to understand, therefore, I learned to use Inkscape really quick. The mind behind this channel is Nick Saporito, a freelance graphic designer that specializes in logos, despite his channel focusing on more than that. I could see more of his work on his domain where he displays his portfolio and I was pleased with what I encountered there. He explains the idea and the premise behind each creation and he is willing to share his knowledge throught a series of courses, different from what we can see on his youtube channel.
To be honest, even if I know now how to use Illustrator, I still prefer Inkscape.
